Bribes Are More Complicated Than They Used to Be

Paris Hilton, pictured above with the two people who've made her into the contemptible strumpet we see today, is still pursuing desperate extralegal ways to stay out of prison. It appears that the Hilton family's push on Governor Schwarzenegger isn't based solely on the goodwill and tenderness he seemed to display as Detective Richard Kimble in Kindergarten Cop.

Our review of campaign contributions shows that her grandpa, W. Barron Hilton, and Hilton Hotels gave a total of $59,600 to Arnold’s campaigns between Sept. 3, 2003, and May 9, 2006. Schwarzenegger’s press secretary, Aaron McLear, tells us: “The governor makes decisions on what he believes is in the best interest of the people of California,” not the Hiltons. But McLear says they have made no formal petition to Arnold, adding, “There are legal remedies for her to pursue before the governor would become involved in this.”

I can picture Kathy Hilton sitting in her processional carriage held up by young, virile servant men, screaming, "I made Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I can destroy him!" But she'd be forgetting one thing. Cyberdyne systems made Arnold Schwarzenegger, and only John Connor can destroy him. I saw a documentary on it once. Hiltons, Arnold knows now why you cry, but it's something he can never do.
